Syllabus & Exam Pattern
Architectural Assistant Examination (Appendix-2)
The examination consists of two papers.
Paper I — General Studies (200 marks, 2 hours): General Science, Computer & Technology; History of India and Indian National Movement; Current Affairs (National and UP); Geography of India and UP; General Mental Ability and Statistical Analysis; Indian Polity; Economics; Indian Agriculture. Also includes a Hindi section covering Varn Vichar, antonyms/synonyms, prefixes/suffixes, Sandhi, Samas, spelling and sentence correction, one-word substitutions, punctuation, idioms and proverbs, and Hindi grammar (noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, karak).
Paper II — Architecture (300 marks, 3 hours): Design, Architecture and Planning; Construction and Materials; Drawing, Graphic and Presentation; History and Contemporary Architecture; Climatology, Acoustics, Lighting and Illumination; Public Health Engineering and Building Services; Applied Mechanics and Structures; Estimation, Costing and Specification; Housing and City Planning; Professional Practice and Building Bye-laws.
Estate Manager Examination (Appendix-3)
Single paper (400 marks, 3 hours, 15 questions total). Subject: General Studies covering five units — Mathematics (Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry); General Hindi (official correspondence, letters, definitions, patrachar forms, sandhi, samas, pallavan); Computer (fundamentals, OS, MS Office, networking, internet and cybersecurity); General Knowledge (Indian History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Science, Current Affairs); Logical Reasoning (Coding-Decoding, Analogy, Series, Classification, Calendar, Clock, Logical Deduction).
Microbiologist Examination (Appendix-4)
Paper I — General Studies (200 marks, 2 hours, 100 questions): General Science; Computer Science and IT; History of India; Geography and Disaster Management; Indian Polity and Constitution; Indian Agriculture; Economy; Current Affairs.
Paper II — Microbiology (300 marks, 3 hours): Five units covering — Unit 1: History of Microbiology, Microscopy and Microbial Diversity; Unit 2: Microbial Control, Culture, Growth and GM Foods; Unit 3: Microbial Contamination, Spoilage and Preservation of Food; Unit 4: Food Microbial Analysis and Safety (GLP, HACCP, FSSAI, Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, related food laws); Unit 5: Microbial Food Products and Waste Management (fermentations, food spoilage microorganisms, industrial waste treatment — BOD, COD, UASB, FBR, etc.).
Examination Pattern (all posts): Objective type questions with negative marking — 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer. OMR answer sheets used (Black Ball Point Pen only). Minimum qualifying marks: 35% for SC/ST; 40% for all other categories.

| Microbiologist | Food Safety and Drug Administration, UP | A Post-graduate Degree in Microbiology (M.Sc. Microbiology) from a university established by law in India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government, with at least three years of experience in Microbiological testing of food. Experience certificates are to be issued by the Head of Department / Chief Manager of the concerned department/institution. |
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent domiciles of Uttar Pradesh (for reservation/age relaxation benefits). The following general conditions apply:
- Candidates must possess all requisite qualifications by the last date for submission of applications.
- Male candidates with more than one living wife and female candidates who have married a person already having a living wife are not eligible, unless exemption has been granted by the Governor.
- Ex-Servicemen must have been discharged from the Army by the last date for receipt of applications.
- Candidates serving under the Central or State Government must produce a No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of examination.
- SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Freedom Fighters' dependents, PH, Skilled Players and Ex-Servicemen who are not permanent residents of UP are not entitled to reservation or age relaxation benefits.
- Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination at the time of application are not eligible.
- Reserved category candidates of UP must mention their category/sub-category in the OTR for reservation benefits to be applied.

Fee is to be paid online through SBI MOPS via Net Banking, Card Payments, or Other Payment Modes. Payment must be completed by the last date and time fixed for fee submission. Candidates must take a printout of the Payment Transaction Slip.
Age Limit
The general age limit is 21 to 40 years as on 1 July 2026. Candidates must not have been born before 2 July 1986 or after 1 July 2005.
- For Persons with Disabilities (PH): maximum age is 55 years (not born before 2 July 1971).
Upper Age Relaxations:
- SC/ST/OBC of UP, Skilled Players (classified games) of UP, State Govt. employees of UP (including Basic Shiksha Parishad and Govt.-aided Madhyamik Vidyalaya teachers/staff): 5 years relaxation (must not have been born before 2 July 1981).
- Physically Handicapped persons of UP: 15 years relaxation.
- Emergency Commissioned/Short Service Commissioned Officers/Ex-Army Personnel of UP: 3 years + period of Army service rendered.
- Research Scholars of Chief Minister Fellowship Programme (with certificate of successful completion of tenure from competent authority by the last date of application): up to 3 years relaxation, calculated as follows — 1 year relaxation for 1 year tenure completed; 2 years for 2 years tenure; 3 years for 3 or more years tenure (tenure calculated as on 1 July of the advertisement year). This relaxation is available only to those who crossed the maximum age limit while completing the fellowship, and is not available to candidates already eligible for age relaxation under any other category.
