MP Police Constable (GD) Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 7500 Posts

• UR, SC and OBC: Class 10th (10+2 system), Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination passed from a recognised board/institution.
• ST: Class 8th or an equivalent examination passed.

The minimum qualification must be complete on the date of applying. All required certificates must be ready by 06-10-2026.

• The candidate must be a citizen of India.
• Candidates who are not permanent residents (domicile) of Madhya Pradesh can apply only under the Unreserved (Open) category. They get no reservation or age relaxation, and their maximum age is 33 years on 06-10-2026.
• Reservation and age relaxation are available only to MP domicile candidates.
• A candidate with more than 2 living children, where one child was born on or after 26 January 2001, is not eligible.
• Government employees need prior permission from their appointing authority to appear, and must submit an accepted resignation if selected.
• Candidates dismissed or removed from service on disciplinary grounds are not eligible.
• Home Guard / Nagar Sainik candidates must have completed 3 years of active service on 06-10-2026. Home Guards get 15% horizontal reservation for Constable posts.
• Horizontal reservation: Ex-Servicemen 10%, Home Guard 15%, Women 35% (women cannot apply for the SAF posts).
• Aadhaar registration is compulsory. Biometric verification is done at the exam centre.
• Persons with disabilities are not eligible, because the Police Department is exempt from recruiting them as per the 1995 circular.
• Transgender candidates are placed in the OBC category, and the male/female standards apply as written in their Certificate of Identity.

• The chest must expand by at least 5 cm. No relaxation is given in physical standards at any stage.
• Vision: at least 6/9 in the better eye and 6/12 in the other eye without glasses, with normal colour vision.
• Candidates must not have knock-knee or flat foot, and must have no physical deformity.
• A District Medical Board does the health check, and the process is video recorded.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - 100 Marks

The PET has three events: 800 m run (40 marks), long jump (30 marks) and shot put (30 marks). A candidate must score at least 30 out of 100. The 800 m run gets one chance, while long jump and shot put get three chances each.

• Final merit is made from the written test score plus the PET marks. Ties are broken by proportionate marks first, then by age (older candidate ranks higher).
• Home Guards are exempt from the written test for Constable posts. They get 5, 10 or 15 marks for up to 5, 5-10 and more than 10 years of service, and seven times the reserved posts are called for the PET.
• After the PET, documents, medical fitness and character verification are checked. Selected candidates serve 3 years of probation.

Candidates give their district / unit preference while applying. Selected candidates are not posted in their home district, and must serve at least 5 years in the unit they are allotted before a transfer.

• Portal fee (MP Online): ₹60 if you apply through a kiosk, or ₹20 if you log in as a registered citizen user and fill the form yourself.
• Correction fee: ₹20 exam correction fee + ₹40 portal fee for every correction made in the correction window.
• Payment mode: Debit card, credit card or net banking online, or cash at an MP Online kiosk.

Minimum age is 18 years. Age is counted as on 06-10-2026.

• Ex-Servicemen: the earlier defence service period is deducted from their age, provided the result is not more than 3 years above the upper age limit.
• Retrenched government employees: up to 7 years of earlier temporary service is deducted, provided the result is not more than 3 years above the upper limit.
• If a candidate qualifies for more than one relaxation, only the one with the highest benefit is given.
• Contract teachers of local bodies, Shikshakarmi, Panchayat Karmi and similar honorary or contract staff get no age relaxation.
