🖥️ Exam Pattern Overview

The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Mode (Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions). The structure is uniform across all levels (Matriculation, Higher Secondary, and Graduation), with the difficulty level of questions varying according to the post's essential qualification.

  • Sectional Timing: There is a sectional timer. You must complete Part A in 15 minutes, Part B in 15 minutes, etc. You cannot switch between sections before the allotted time expires.

  • Scribe Allowance: Candidates eligible for a scribe (PwBD/PwD) will get a total of 80 Minutes (20 minutes extra per hour).

  • Negative Marking0.50 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

  • Medium: The exam is available in English and Hindi only (choice must be selected in the application form).


📚 Detailed Syllabus (Level-Wise)

The Commission has prescribed separate indicative syllabi based on the Essential Qualification level of the post applied for.

1. Matriculation Level (10th Standard)

  • General Intelligence: Non-verbal types focusing on similarities/differences, space visualization, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, relationship concepts, figure classification, and arithmetic number series.

  • General Awareness: General environment and its application to society; current affairs; everyday scientific observations; India & Neighbouring countries (History, Culture, Geography, Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports, Economy).

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Number Systems, Whole Numbers, Decimals & Fractions, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time & Distance, Time & Work, Tables & Graphs.

  • English Language: Basics of English, Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Correct Usage.

2. Higher Secondary Level (10+2 Standard)

  • General IntelligenceBoth Verbal and Non-Verbal. Includes Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/pattern folding, Number Series, Word Building, Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Coding-Decoding.

  • General Awareness: Similar to Matriculation level but with a deeper expectation of knowledge regarding current events, Indian History, Culture, Geography, Economy, Polity, and Scientific Research.

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Includes Arithmetic (Percentages, Ratio, Averages, Profit/Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mixture & Alligation, Time & Work), Algebra (Basic identities, Surds, Linear Equations), Geometry (Triangles, Circles, Tangents), Mensuration (2D/3D shapes), Trigonometry (Ratios, Heights & Distances), and Statistics (Charts, Graphs).

  • English Language: Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Idioms & Phrases, One-word Substitution, Sentence Improvement, Active/Passive Voice, Direct/Indirect Speech, Cloze Test, Comprehension Passage.

3. Graduation & Above Level

  • General IntelligenceBoth Verbal and Non-Verbal. Includes Analogies, Similarities/Differences, Space Visualization, Problem Solving, Analysis, Judgment, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Arithmetic Reasoning, Coding & Decoding, Statement Conclusion, Syllogistic Reasoning, Indexing, Address Matching, Emotional & Social Intelligence.

  • General Awareness: Similar topics (History, Culture, Geography, Economy, Polity, Scientific Research) but with a focus on in-depth knowledge expected of a graduate.

  • Quantitative AptitudeNote on Difficulty: While the syllabus topics (Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Statistics) are similar to the 10+2 level, the question standard for Part-C (Quantitative Aptitude) is set at the 10th Standard level for the Graduation level exam. The other parts (A, B, D) will be commensurate with Graduation level.

  • English Language: Designed to test understanding of correct English, basic comprehension, and writing ability at the graduate level. Includes Comprehension Passage, Grammar, Vocabulary, etc.

📝 Skill Test

  • NatureQualifying only (unless specified otherwise in Post Details).

  • Applicability: Only for posts where a skill (Typing, Data Entry, Computer Proficiency) is explicitly mentioned in the Essential Qualifications in Annexure-III.

Educational Qualification

  • Varies by Post: The specific Essential Qualification (EQ) is mentioned against each Post Code in Annexure-III (Page 75 onwards).

  • Crucial Date: Candidates must possess the requisite qualification on or before the closing date of application (04.05.2026).

  • Proof: Final year/semester mark sheets or provisional degree are accepted only if the result was declared on or before 04.05.2026.

  • Distance Education: Degrees/Diplomas through Open and Distance Learning are accepted only if recognized by UGC/DEB for the relevant period.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Citizen of India, or Subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or Tibetan refugee (pre-1962), or Person of Indian Origin migrated from specific countries (Certificate of Eligibility required for non-citizens).

  • Crucial Date for Status: For claiming SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/ESM reservation benefits, the candidate must possess that status as on 04.05.2026 (Closing Date).

  • OBC Specific: Candidate must not fall under the Creamy Layer as on 04.05.2026.

  • EWS Specific: Must possess Income & Asset Certificate valid for FY 2026-2027 (based on FY 2025-2026 income).
