Overview / Description
The Indian Air Force (IAF) invites online applications from MALE INDIAN / GORKHA citizens (subjects of Nepal) for the post of Airmen in Group "Y" (Medical Assistant Trade). This is a non-commissioned entry for the AIRMEN INTAKE 02/2027. The selection process includes an online test, physical fitness test, adaptability tests, and a medical examination. Selected candidates will serve an initial tenure of 20 years, extendable up to the age of 57 years.

Selection Process Overview
The recruitment process consists of multiple stages: a Phase-I Online Written Examination, followed by a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Adaptability Tests (I & II), and a final Medical Examination .
Phase-I Online Written Examination Pattern
The first stage is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) designed to assess your knowledge and aptitude.
Subject-wise Distribution: The online test covers two main sections .
Note: Some sources suggest a slight variation (e.g., 25 questions for each section) , but the 20/30 split for English and RAGA is more consistently reported.
Detailed Syllabus
1. English Syllabus
This section is based on the 10+2 CBSE level and tests grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills .
Grammar: Tenses, Articles, Prepositions, Subject-Verb Agreement, Error Detection, Sentence Improvement, Active/Passive Voice, Direct/Indirect Speech .
Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms & Phrases, One-Word Substitution, Fill in the Blanks .
Sentence Structure: Sentence Rearrangement / Jumbled Sentences .
2. Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA) Syllabus
This section is divided into two parts: Reasoning and General Awareness.
A. Reasoning Syllabus:
This part evaluates logical thinking and problem-solving ability .
Verbal Reasoning: Analogy, Classification, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Direction Sense, Series Completion (Number, Alphabetical), Syllogism, Mathematical Operations .
Non-Verbal Reasoning: Figure Series, Odd One Out, Embedded Figures, Mirror & Water Images .
B. General Awareness Syllabus:
This section covers a broad range of topics to test the candidate's knowledge of current affairs and static general knowledge .
Current Affairs: National & International News, Sports, Awards, Important Days, Summits & Conferences .
Science & Technology: Basic Science Concepts, General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) .
Government Schemes: Central Government schemes and policies .
Subsequent Stages (Post Written Exam)
After clearing the online test, candidates must successfully pass the following stages:
Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
Adaptability Tests: Objective written tests to assess a candidate's suitability for the Indian Air Force environment and way of life .
Medical Examination: A thorough medical examination conducted by an Air Force Medical Team to ensure candidates meet the required medical standards .

Nationality: Male citizens of India and Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
Marital Status: Must be Unmarried at the time of application.
Medical Standards:
Height: Minimum 152 cm.
Chest: Minimum circumference 77 cm, expansion at least 5 cm.
Hearing: Able to hear forced whisper from 6 meters.
Dental: Healthy gums, good set of teeth (minimum 14 points).
Vision: Maximum Refractive Error not exceeding ± 3.500 (including Astigmatism). Visual Acuity: 6/36 each eye, correctable to 6/6 each eye. Colour Vision: CP-II. History of LASIK/PRK is NOT accepted.
Tattoo Policy: Permanent tattoos are not permitted except on inner forearms or back of the hand (traditional/tribal). Offensive tattoos are prohibited. Sikh candidates can keep hair/beard as per religious customs.
General Health: Must be physically and mentally fit, free from any disease, infection, or deformity.
Medical Fitness: Subject to final decision by an Air Force Medical Board.
