Exam Pattern (Paper-I & Paper-II)
Based on official MPPSC notifications for Assistant Professor recruitment, the exam is conducted offline (OMR-based) with two papers :

Paper-II is subject-specific and tests candidates at the Post-Graduate (Master's) level in Sanskrit .
Since the official Sanskrit syllabus PDF is yet to be released on the MPPSC website, the detailed topics will be based on the UGC NET Sanskrit syllabus structure. Based on MP SET guidelines, the MPPSC syllabus aligns with UGC NET pattern .

| PhD Exemption from NET | PhD holders are exempt from NET/SET if the PhD was awarded under UGC Regulations 2009 (or later amendments) with ALL the following conditions (must be certified by VC/Dean): • PhD awarded in regular mode only • Viva voce conducted • Thesis evaluated by at least 2 external examiners • Two research papers published, with at least one in a refereed journal • Two papers presented in conferences sponsored by UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or similar agencies |

Note for PhD holders registered before 11 July 2009: They are governed by their institute's old ordinances. PhD awarded after the 2009 regulations came into effect must still fulfill the above five conditions (a to e).
Eligibility Criteria

| Employment Registration | MP domicile candidates must have a valid/live Employment Registration certificate from MP Employment Office at the time of document submission before interview. Non-MP candidates are exempted from employment registration. |
| Government Servants (MP) | Must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the department/office. |
| Non-Government Employees | Must submit a proof of employment from the institute/establishment. |
| Children Norms | ❌ Not eligible if: • Convicted of a crime against women. • Has more than two living children with at least one born on or after 26 January 2001. (Exception: If first living child + subsequent delivery results in twins/triplets after 26 Jan 2001, the candidate is not disqualified). |
