The High Court of Judicature at Patna has announced the recruitment of Ex-Cadre Assistants (Group-C) for the year 2026. Educational Qualification

  • Educational Qualification: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Computer Qualification: Diploma or Certificate of at least six months' course in Computer Application from a recognized Institution.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the following eligibility conditions:

  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of India, a Tibetan refugee who came before 1st January 1972, or a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries with permanent settlement intention.
  • Character & Health: Must possess suitable character for appointment in the High Court and be in good mental and physical health. A medical certificate of physical fitness is required at the time of joining.
  • Marital Status: Candidates having more than one living spouse are not eligible.
  • Employment Status: Candidates already employed in Central/State Government, PSUs, or recognized private sector entities must obtain permission from their employer and produce a "No Objection Certificate (NOC)" at the time of the interview.
  • Name Change: Candidates who changed their name after Matriculation must submit a notarized affidavit, proof of publication in national and local newspapers, and the Gazette Notification during document verification.
  • Criminal Records: Candidates must disclose details of any criminal proceedings, FIRs, or departmental proceedings.

Syllabus Details

1. General English: Vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, spot the error, fill in the blanks, spellings, idioms & phrases, one word substitution, active/passive voice, direct/indirect narration, comprehension, etc.

2. Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude: Analogy, similarities, space visualization, problem solving, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, number series, coding-decoding, number system, decimals, fractions, percentage, ratio & proportion, profit & loss, time & work, etc.

3. General Awareness: Current events, India and neighbouring countries (History, Culture, Geography, Polity, Economy), General Science, Environment, and Bihar-specific general awareness (History, Culture, Geography, Economy, Polity).

4. General Hindi (सामान्य हिंदी): व्याकरण - शब्द रूपांतरण, संज्ञा, लिंग, वचन, सर्वनाम, विशेषण, क्रिया विशेषण, कारक, काल, वाच्य, संधि, समास, उपसर्ग, प्रत्यय, वाक्य इत्यादि, अपठित गद्यांश, शुद्ध वर्तनी, समानार्थी एवं विलोम शब्द, अनेक शब्दों के लिए एक शब्द, मुहावरे एवं लोकोक्तियाँ इत्यादि।

5. Computer Awareness: Computer Operation Basics, Introduction to Operating System, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Computer Communication and Internet, Protecting Computer from Virus.

Selection Process & Guidelines

Shortlisting Criteria:

  • For Written Test: 10 times the number of advertised vacancies will be shortlisted based on Preliminary Test performance (if conducted).
  • For Computer Proficiency Test: 6 times the number of advertised vacancies will be shortlisted based on Written Test performance.
  • For Interview: 3 times the number of advertised vacancies will be shortlisted based on Written Test performance.

Preferential Qualifications:

Other things being equal, preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • Served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years, or
  • Obtained a 'B' certificate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
