Unit System (FPS, CGS, MKS/SI, conversion of units)
Materials Science (Ferrous & Non-ferrous metals, Cast Iron, Wrought Iron, Steel, Alloys)
Mass, Weight & Density (Specific gravity of metals)
Speed & Velocity (Equations of motion)
Work, Power & Energy (Horsepower, Mechanical efficiency, Potential & Kinetic energy)
Heat & Temperature (Boiling/Melting point, temperature scales, thermometers, heat transmission – conduction, convection, radiation)

Shortlisting for Main Exam:
Candidates will be shortlisted 15 times the number of category-wise vacancies based on their normalized score of PET-2025.
All candidates scoring up to the final cut-off (with two decimal places) will be included.

Mandatory Qualification:
High School: Must have passed High School (Class 10) examination from the UP Board or an equivalent recognized board.
Technical Certificate (Any one of the following):
Certificate in Tubewell Mechanic course from Government Technical Centre or Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Lal Diggi Park, Gorakhpur (or equivalent recognized by the government).
OR a minimum two-year course certificate from the Directorate of Employment & Training, UP or an ITI in any of the following trades:
Machine Mistry (Machinist)
Fitter
Wireman
Turner
OR a three-year National Apprenticeship Certificate from the National Council for Vocational Training, Government of India.
Note: A certificate in Tubewell Mechanic course from Government ITI, BKT, Lucknow is also recognized as equivalent.
Preferential Qualification (if two candidates have equal merit):
Minimum two years of service in the Provincial Service.
OR possession of 'B' Certificate from the NCC.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
PET Requirement: Must have appeared in the UPSSSC PET 2025 and received a normalized score card. Candidates with zero, negative, or under-investigation (UI)/provisional status (subject to final decision) may not be shortlisted.
